At KICS Immigration Consultants, we ensure every client fully understands the services we offer and the exact costs involved. Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions.
We offer telephone, video (via Zoom/Teams), and face-to-face meetings at our office. We are happy to arrange a meeting with you based on your choosing from the above options. Simply book a consultation on our website and we will confirm your appointment.
We charge fixed, transparent fees based on the complexity of your case. You pay an initial deposit (usually 50%) to start work, with the balance due before submission. Home Office application fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge are paid separately at the time of application. We are competitively priced for the level of expertise and personal service we provide. Our fees are reasonable and commensurate with the volume of work done on behalf of our clients.
No regulated immigration adviser can legally guarantee approval, as every decision is made by the Home Office based on your individual circumstances and the requirement of Immigration rules. However, we can assess if your case has a reasonable prospect of success during your initial consultation and advise you accordingly. Where appropriate, we offer a No Win No Fee option for certain applications. We hold fees until submission and will discuss refund terms transparently if we agree to this arrangement
Yes. We assist individuals and businesses worldwide — whether you are applying from your home country, already in the UK, or need to switch/ extend your visa from inside the UK (where rules allow).
We are not permitted to publish a success rate, but we have successfully helped clients with various visa applications, administrative reviews, appeals, and sponsorship licences. After an initial consultation we provide a clear, written advice letter stating the realistic prospects of your case.
It depends on your nationality. Many visitors now require an ETA (a quick online authorisation valid for 2 years or until your passport expires) instead of a full visa. Others still need a Standard Visitor visa. Use the GOV.UK “Check if you need a UK visa” tool or contact us — we will confirm the correct route and help you apply.
You need a job offer from a licensed UK sponsor, a certificate of sponsorship, and usually to meet the minimum salary threshold (currently around £41,700 for most roles in 2026, subject to tradeable points). You must also meet the English language requirement (now B2 level for many routes) and be able to support yourself. Our team specialises in sponsor licences and Skilled Worker applications.
International students need a Student visa if they are studying a course longer than 6 months at a licensed sponsor (university or college). You will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), proof of funds, and English language evidence. We assist with both the university application and the visa.
You must prove a genuine relationship, meet the minimum income threshold (or savings alternative), and show adequate accommodation. The route leads to Indefinite Leave to Remain after 5 years. We help with both initial applications and extensions.
Processing times vary by visa type and location. Standard Visitor visas are often decided in 3–6 weeks, while Skilled Worker and Student visas can take 3–8 weeks (or faster with priority/super-priority services). We monitor current times daily and advise you on the best submission strategy.
Requirements depend on the visa route but typically include a valid passport, financial evidence, relationship documents (if applicable), tuberculosis test (certain countries), and sponsor documents. We provide a detailed personalised checklist and help you gather strong supporting evidence to avoid refusals.
In some routes (e.g., extensions or switching from certain visas) yes — but not from a Standard Visitor visa in most cases. We will review your current status and advise on the correct route.
Most visitor visas do not carry a full right of appeal, but you can usually re-apply addressing the refusal reasons. Work, study, and family visas often have appeal or administrative review rights. We specialise in refusals and appeals and have a strong track record of overturning negative decisions.
After the qualifying period (usually 5 years on most routes), you can apply for ILR (settlement). You must pass the Life in the UK test and meet English language requirements (B2 level from 2026 in many cases). Citizenship can be applied for 12 months after ILR. We guide clients through the entire journey.
Yes, most visa applicants (except visitors) pay the Health Surcharge as part of the application. It gives access to the NHS during your stay.
Absolutely. We assist UK companies with sponsor licence applications, compliance, and all work visa routes including Global Business Mobility, Scale-up, and Innovator visas.
